I don't really believe in girls hitting on guys. I've seen it happen- personally- from an aggressive type, but typically girls are really passive about approaching men unless they are having strong child-bearing urges.

It surprised me, as one might imagine, when I was shopping with Sam, doing our typical late night grocery run, when we got in line behind someone at one of the only registers open. We clearly were two different orders in line, and the other register had one person already paying and our line, a rather obvious three. A girl, who happened to be mildly attractive (digression; except in one or two instances, I call most girls I initially meet "mildly attractive" and if I ever get to know them, then they have that chance of becoming hot- end digression), got in line behind Sam and myself. Maybe I am vain, but I assumed that she was passively making it known that she was interested- I checked her out and saw a couple tattoos, which leads me to my standards:

-Probably no tattoos. I've never been with a girl that had one, but I would consider it, but it certainly would give me hesitation.

-Certain type of intelligence. I don't that most have the same worldview or perspective, and I'd like to be on the same page with the woman.

-Heart. This bullet and the previous are most important to me. See, I need someone that knows some of my motivation and then be able to help right me when I get off track.

-Athletic. I'd like to bike or run with my girlfriend, as that gives us a chance to talk and be with each other and still get exercise.

Everything else is moot. Woot!

I think this is true for most men, which is good because it means that we as men are not quite as shallow as we might seem. Still shallow, just not quite as much so.

I like the rhyming at the end.
